Now fans of the Netflix show are wanting to know whether Ben and Alex are still together. An in-depth report from the set of the hit Showtime series’ sophomore run. Queer Eye taught you to wear a lot of patterned short-sleeved shirts.
Luke is a gentleman with classy and appealing looks working in the real estate industry. He attracts many women but finally settles for Victoria, a blonde beauty from Massachusetts with a great sense of humor. As of today, it looks like the two are no longer together.
All these dates were very different, topically and dynamically. But they really did capture them very accurately and brilliantly edited them together to make it seem like one cohesive thing. The first date, the first time we shot, the first time on camera, and meeting Cory for the first time—I think that might have been the most organic. Sweet and sophisticated widower Leonard is ready to find out what love looks like after loss, and he tries his hand at an impromptu dance lesson. Production designer and mustache aficionado Lex is a master of cool, cultured charm, but he must try to defuse one man’s awkward second date invitation. Series 1 Episode 5
Justin was born and raised in New Orleans, where the second season is filmed. (Each season is set in a different city; New York City was the setting for season 1.) His family left New Orleans for some time after Hurricane Katrina and moved to Houston, where he was bullied. But it wasn’t long until he came back to the Big Easy.
It was clear to see that Ben was a gentleman as he turned up at the New Orleans restaurant with flowers for all his dates. None of the other situations are quite as dramatic as that, though there are frank confrontations, You’re just not my type grimaces, and nicked egos. Conversely, the participants might get a welcomed kiss or a nice compliment. Some even—stay with me—seem to simply start enjoying themselves in the moment. What propels these people to the meet-up, and viewers to the next episode, feels like the same thing that defines any good Netflix binge, or Tinder swipe-athon, or Candy Crush spiral. It’s a game, but one you’re only dimly aware can ever end.
Lex and Cory – Episode 3
While Alex looks to have had her IG page a while, Ben only has two posts so he must not be so into the social media site. The Dating Around couple did exchange numbers so how to use AustralianFlirts with any luck, they keep in contact that way. As Dating Around follows New Yorkers on Groundhog Day–like blind dates, viewers may begin to lose their grip on reality.

There’s even more to watch.
It’s staggering and, if you’re as old as I am, it makes you profoundly grateful that your dating days are over. The very gentlemanly Professor of Computer Science Ben deserves some happy love, although his episode was full of awkward moments so pungent it was hard to watch. We’re rooting for him and awaiting any updates from his brand new Instagram account. Episode two is the first time we see dates really break the mould of the show’s format and from that point it gets a bit twistier and turnier. In the incredibly charming fourth episode, sixtysomething widower Leonard meets five of the most incredible older women in New York. One, a fashion queen garbed in black like a Lady Gaga from the future, refuses to get a drink after dinner because it’s her bedtime.
On VH1’s The Pickup Artist, which ran from 2007–2008, a “pickup artist” named Mystery taught a “boot camp” for men who had trouble with dating. After a successful date ended, they had to make a choice — either they could go on a second date, or they could get a cash prize equal to the amount of time they’d spent on their date. The fourth season added a woman named Nicole Morgan to the “geek” side and a man named Sam Horrigan to the “beauty” side. To make matters worse, the kid’s current partner had to watch the dates with the parents who hated them. In the end, the kid would choose if they wanted to stay with their current partner or date one of their parents’ picks instead. Otherreal confessionsfrom the show included “I have a webcam in my bathroom,” “I stole $10,000 from an ex,” “I’ve been arrested 22 times,” and “I used to be a pimp.”
The ensuing get-to-know-you exchanges are packaged with gorgeous cinematography straight out of an indie romcom, twinkly lights, and a handful of top 40 hits. Somewhere between a nightlife docuseries and a Zales commerical, Dating Around first appears as a realistic, personal, vaguely boring, but very pretty glimpse into real-world romance. Also Lex’s date with Jonathan was really hard to watch. His story about sleeping with a guy who wanted him to also walk his dog was confusing and sad. The show’s third episode centers on Lex Liang, a costume and set designer who runs an events design company. He’s also a gay Asian-American man who never assumed he would get cast as a lead on a dating show.
